"In this clip, let's talk about decorating for the holiday season with regards to keeping focal points in your home especially if you have a limited budget and you want to decorate and you want to keep things simple. If you pick a focal point in your room, for instance where you want to put your Christmas tree, your Christmas tree would be a focal point. If in your family room you have a mantel, the mantel would be a focal point so point here and focus on your attention on that main substance whether it be the mantel or the tree or your entrance way into your house for instance as well. So in each of the different rooms especially if you are only using a few items in each room or a room, you want to pick that focal point so that instead of just clustering decorations just all over the place in the room, pick that point, focus most of the decorations there and that is where the eye will take you. Or when people come into the room, that is where they will look and that is of course, where they will focus which is why they call it the focal point instead of just having things again, scattered sporadically around your room."
