"Now we're ready to get started. I have my plain unfinished wood shape here. I'm just going to peel off the sticker on the back. I'm going to use some of my acrylic paint. I have like a dark cranberry color here. I'm going to squeeze out a little bit of that. This is just ordinary acrylic craft paint that you can get in just about any art supply store. It's water soluble, so you don't have to worry about cleaning up. We're going to paint one side with the red color. Then we're going to do gold on the other side. This is really easy to paint on. You don't have to do any preparation on the wood. Just brush the red paint over it and leave the edges free, because we're going to do something different on the edges. One coat should be sufficient, because we're actually going to do henna over this, so it doesn't have to be really thick."
