Collecting Antique German Santas

"So, collecting Christmas collectibles, the most desirable are the German Santas. I don't have a lot of examples but I have a couple of examples that I'll share with you today. This is a nice composition Santa which is a candy container with a feather tree on it. This is probably 12 or maybe 10 or 12 inches high, this Santa here would range in around the $200.00 to $250.00 range. They're highly collectible, the earlier are the Santas the more expensive, depending on the condition, those are things to keep in mind. Another later Santa on a mica composition base, it has composition boots, with, the pants are composition, the legs are composition with a felt top with a rope turned felt on him with blue mittens, and he's got his candy sack on, or sack containing his toys or whatever, are attached to his back, this is a really typical thing with his rabbit feathered beard and his kind of funny looking face. He's got a very big head for the proportion of his body but this is a very typical German, later German Santa, and you can see it also has it's label on the bottom. It's stamped on the bottom here. So, just a couple examples of German Santas, there's one other earlier Santa here that may have been in this, this is a mica scene which is later, I want to show you this earlier Santa sitting in here, composition, might have been put in here later, not part of the original, this piece, and you'll find that when you collect these holidays, people have mixed and matched things. But, this is an earlier Santa, German, put into a mica sled and reindeer. But this is a nice example of an earlier Santa, so just wanted to show you that. But you'll find things like this that have been mixed and matched with your holiday collecting, and on the bottom here you can also see this is stamped, too. Another just variation of what different forms you can find in the Santas, so this is a start for you looking for your German collectible Santas."
