Collecting Spun Cotton Christmas Figures

"So, when collecting, one of the things that's popular is spun cotton, and it comes in many different forms. You can find spun cotton in fruits and vegetables that are really collectible. You can find spun cotton in snow men, skiers, and I have a couples of examples here I want to share with you today. This is a spun cotton skier on a mica, it has mica on top of the sled, and what it would have had was a little drawer that pulled out here as a candy container, it's a really cute example of spun cotton and mica decorated candy container. And here's another example of a skier, which is really, there's lots of different skiers out there, some in plastic, some in like this one, in spun cotton, some in porcelain. You'll find many different variations but this is a really nice example of spun cotton, little chenille hands and little wooden ski polls and then you also have the little skis on the bottom and they're usually stapled underneath here and you can see this one says made in Japan. There were a lot of them made during that period, made in Japan, this is a really nice clean example of a skier done in spun cotton. This would range, in the price range of about $55.00 to $65.00. So, this is a few, just a very few examples of spun cotton but there's a lot to collect out there, this is just a start, check your reference books and you'll see the large variety that you can collect in spun cotton."
