Think of all the thousands of items that have been created for Christmas. With a holiday that revolves itself around the gift of giving, there are literally millions of items of Christmas merchandise. One of the most iconic figures of Christmas is St. Nick. This image of present day Santa Clause is the work of a German-American cartoonist in 1863. Though Santa's actual image wasn't mass-produced until 1920, people all over the world have characterized jolly ole' Saint Nick with the certain physical attributes. Now, the image of Santa clause has been standardized as the beloved fat little man in the red suit, which is all thanks to a cartoonist's ingenious imagination. Stemming from this universal representation, people have created Santas as a means of decoration and love for Christmas. Tracing back this history of collectible Santas can be extremely profitable for the diligent antique collector. Everyone knows that there is big money in Christmas.

"So collecting Christmas holidays I just want to show you different meanings you can collect infirmary is a fun way to collect and I'm just going to show you what I have for examples. Something like this in paper these snow angels are wonderful little things to collect this is you'll find postcards and a lot of other collectibles. Here is just a trade card this is holiday scene and it is in German so we're not going to be reading it today. But this is what you'll see around the turn of the century and postcards are really collectible in santas and all different other forms you'll see. This is actually potatoes starched you'll see sponge cotton here, you'll see glass in bulbs that you can find santas in. You'll also find them in plastic in the 1950's you'll find them over here with the sponge cotton again, and here the earlier ones and you'll find Japanese ones. You'll also find them in a wax, this is another collectible area, you can find them in plastic and you'll find the bulbs silver bulbs here. So there's a wide range of collectibles and just in the santas but we'll show you a little, here you can find a knoll snow's these aren't santas but they're little elves but they're examples of different ones that you can use. So those are a few different examples of collectibles in the holiday season that you might want to collect."
