"Hello! I'm Matt Cail on behalf of Expert Village. I'm here today to show you how to make a zombie costume. There are 2 trains of thought on the hands. One school of thinking is that you just leave them alone. Hands are going to be touching a lot of things and you don't want your makeup to be rubbing off all night long. Another school of thought is that well no you should because right now these hands look very alive. These are flesh colored hands and obviously, the person who has them is alive. I suggest a compromise. What I do generally is I apply white makeup to the back of the hands and along the fingers in a very, very light layer. I do this by dabbing on in circular motion filling in the wrinkles along the fingers. This is again just the back of the hand and it's a very, very light layer. Why are we doing this? We're doing just enough to pale the back of the hand, to make it continuous with our zombie getup. Yet at the same time, we're not doing it to such a degree where this makeup is going to slow off whenever you handle a doorknob. Second off, we're going to leave the palm underneath bare. If you have your hands thrown up, yeah they're going to pink and I guess it will be less obvious that you're dead. A lot of the time, people are only going to see the back of your hands anyway because they're going to be resting at your side. When they're resting at your side, the hands are going to look just as dead as your neck, ears, and face."
