How to Use Liquid Latex for Zombie Makeup

"Hello! I'm Matt Cail on behalf of Expert Village. I'm here today to show you how to make a zombie costume. Alright, step one on our road to zombie hood is liquid latex. This is very useful in making fake rotting effects, peeling skin wounds, bruises, and other nasty things going on underneath the skin. Okay, so take your liquid latex and open it on up. Unless you're using the liquid latex, always keep it sealed, otherwise it'll dry out. Most of these containers of liquid latexes will come with a brush inside. Use this brush and only this brush to apply the liquid latex. You're just going to take a normal droplet on the end of the latex, don't have to have a lot, and you're going to begin to dab this across the forehead area. You can really pick wherever you want, but in this case, I'm going for sort of a rotted gash effect on top of the forehead. Again, use as much as you like. There's really no signs to this. It's more of an art form. The only goal you're trying to do here is to be able to build up some fake flesh, which is going to look like sort of like rotting stubble on his face. In this case, I'm basically going from right to left because I'm left handed. If you're a right hander, feel free to go the other way. It's just the way I'm doing because I'm lefty. Just keep applying this. The layers will generally take about around 5-10 minutes to dry depending on your product. Don't think that you only have to apply one layer. I've actually seen it done where 4 or 5 layers, sometimes even more, are applied. Basically, make sure that you let the layer dry and then apply some more. Also, don't hesitate to use other implements later on when the latex is dried, like other things to give it a more ragged effect like the other end of a brush. Just be very sensitive on your face."
