"Hello. I'm Matt Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to creatively carve a pumpkin. A lot of pumpkins that look awesome during the night are rather bland by day. It's because you don't have the cool lighting effects going on and a lot of shapes which become more pronounced with the light source behind them, just are less so during the daylight hours. There's a way around this and it's using your black pen to outline some of your carvings. This will result in more of a face that you can see during the day. And it's pretty easy to do. You basically are going to outline some (not all) of your carvings in black. The areas you should especially outline on are the eyes, and the nose, and also the mouth area. And really try to keep in mind what effect you are going for. For a lot of these side things, we were trying to get more of a sweat rivulets going here. So we are going to take the black pen and only really shade in near the bottom and give kind of a more dripping sensation. I mean, again, you don't have to have super dark lines. But we are going to do this throughout. And it could be on a weapons holder where you have more of a boring cut so that your ax or whatever will fit, we could spice it up by adding in some black lines (almost looking like there might have been a bit of a tragic explosion going on over here). I mean, a little bit of black pen can go a long way towards making your pumpkin look a lot more interesting during the day. "
