Cleaning the Kitchen for a Thanksgiving Game

"Hello, I'm Matt Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to tell you all about Thanksgiving games and activities. What's one of the biggest drags of Thanksgiving is after eating all of that really super great food you have all these dishes and other plates and cups and all this stuff in this huge big mess on a table that can be ten to twenty feet long, depending on how big your family is. It can be a bit of a drag and you just kind of want to go in front of the television as opposed to help clean up. But there's a fun game activity which you can keep in mind to try to get around this and make a little bit more fun too. Basically what it is, it's called clean up in record time. And the way this game is played is that everyone essentially has a time record with which they, even you can keep records from year to year to year, I've seen families do this for a decade or more and basically what it is is you have a stopwatch and basically after everyone is done with dinner and ready to start cleaning up, you press the stopwatch and then it starts keeping track of your time and everyone goes into motion, starts trying to clear the table, get the dishes clean, get the food wrapped up, put in the fridge, basically get everything put away to where you can enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving. This is a nice fun activity which can get everyone helping out which they should be anyway. The only caveat is you have to make sure that people don't rush. If anybody breaks anything, automatically the time is forfeit, you can never keep track of, because you don't want people like throwing things or anything crazy like that so use some common sense and safety but in addition to that, it's a great way to leverage your whole family and maybe you'll come up with the next best record."
