"Hello. I'm Matt Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you today how to survive a big family Thanksgiving. So what happens if you are in need of an escape hatch and your Thanksgiving goes out in a big spiral of stress and you have no spouse, and well, you can't get outside because the weather is awful. You still have another option: making yourself scarce, i.e. hiding. Hide out somewhere. Go to a room where you can shut the door. I've even heard of some people hiding in closets or downstairs in the basement; even once, in a crawl space. That last thing is a little extreme. But, sometimes you have to get away from people. You get some serious Thanksgiving cabin fever going on, and it doesn't do you or anyone else any good for you not to be able to get away. So, another option is, if you don't have that back-up and can't get outside, is to go somewhere inside where people can't find you; where you have a little bit of solitude and rest and relaxation. If it's your own residence, maybe you can go to your room, bar up the door and listen to some nice, calm music just to get a more of a steady beat to your heart going and just to calm down a bit. Get a break! Put a pillow over your head. Punch the pillow if you like. But the important thing is to go somewhere where no one else can follow you to give yourself a break. "
