    Series Summary

Thanksgiving is a time when people celebrate the good things in life. And what better way to celebrate than with a feast fit for royalty. Whether it’s the pleasure of each other’s company—or just the prospect of a home-cooked meal—that gathers children, grandchildren, cousins, aunts, and uncles from the four winds, Thanksgiving dinner is almost considered a sacrament in some families. If that happens to describe your family, make sure you show up in time for supper, even if it’s just to keep from getting an earful from your mother. Kick back and watch as bitter feuds and sibling rivalries lose momentum, pacified by a glut of mashed potatoes, gravy, and tryptophan-laced turkey. Then slip on over to the living room, turn on a football game, and drift into oblivion as you digest the best meal you’ve eaten all year.

Want to ensure that your Thanksgiving dinner goes off without a hitch? Don’t feel extra confident about your first time hosting the most important meal of the year? Just looking for some new recipe ideas this season? Watch these holiday cooking videos and get step-by-step instructions on how to make traditional Thanksgiving recipes, including how to cook a turkey, how to make stuffing, how to make homemade mashed potatoes—and even get a free pumpkin pie recipe.

    Happy Thanksgiving

    Video Transcript

"Hi my name is Lori with Figs Catering in Austin, Texas on behalf of Expert Village today we are going to show you how to make a entire Thanksgiving meal. To start our Thanksgiving meal first we are going to start off with our turkey. Here we have about a 10 pound turkey it is going to take about 3 to 3 1/2 hours to cook. I've got it sitting on a roasting pan with some aluminum foil underneath and that would really help with clean up. Also we are going to make a sage butter. To make a sage butter, you would need 1 stick of butter and some sage. You also need some salt and pepper. We are also going to need to seasoning outside of the turkey as well as the inside of the turkey with the salt and pepper. With the sage butter, we are going to mix it and make sure we rub it all over the turkey. We are going to make sure we get inside the skin of the turkey so it flavors the turkey from the inside out. It is going to give our turkey a really great flavor. The flavor of the turkey is going to be a nice buttery sage flavor. If you don't like sage, feel free to use other herbs like rosemary or thyme."
