"Of course the other option outside of plastic grass, and paper grass is real grass. Once upon a time, this used to be how all Easter baskets were created. It was a true Spring event, and you had baskets which had actual real grass in them. Nowadays, with our, shall we say manufactured culture, that seems a little quaint or downright historic, but real grass has been making a comeback in Easter baskets. Some people who want to be you know, paper grass is not natural or organic enough; maybe not environmentally friendly, they're going out in their yards, they're mowing the lawn the day before, and they're saving some of the scraps, and they're plopping them in the basket. Of course, there are some down sides to this. Yes, you are being environmentally friendly, and you are not taking any processing, or buying any goods that have traveled halfway around the globe, but you're also going to have to realize this is an actual organic thing which means, it will decompose over time. If you're planning on having an Easter basket hidden away in a closet for three days, I would not put the grass in there, at least not to start. It will generally decompose, and as you often know about walking past a newly cut lawn, there is definitely an aroma to grass after it has been cut, or pulled out by the roots. So, keep this in mind if you want to go all-natural for your Easter egg basket."
