Summary: Who needs Hallmark? Here are some tips on how to cut out pictures for your own Valentine's day cards with this free video clip.
"Okay, so I've lightly traced a heart shape around the part of the picture I'm going to cut around. And the thing this is basically paralleling the shape of our heart card already. And so we can basically see how it's going to fit in the center of our card. Before we start cutting though let's do our tinting. Okay with a light pink marker you're going to go over with nice, straight, broad strokes. And this is not going to show up as well in the darker regions, which are okay. We just want to have, it doesn't have to be super strong because you want to see the photograph underneath it. So don't even think of using highlighter pink or a deep, deep pink, or even worse yet violet. You don't want to cover up the picture underneath there. You just want to give a nice little tint to it. So make sure that the entire region that you tend to cut out is tinted. There's no little black and white stripes going anywhere. Now it's time to cut her out. Basically look for the area of the paper that is closest to the edge. That will mean like the less cutting through the photograph as possible. Go up straight to right about the center of the heart. And now we're back to cutting. Very similar to how we already cut out our heart. Gently going around the sides here, down to the center, which will have a nice point. Not too sharp though. Then coming back up around here. You want to make sure that the area of the photograph that you're cutting out can stand-alone. You don't necessarily want to have disembodied heads for example. That just looks a little strange rather than romantic. Now when you cut out the, cut out the photograph you may discover that it's not perfectly symmetrical. You couldn't quite fold this. It's no problem if that's the case. For example, this side comes out a little more than this side does. No problem. Just very gently, shave off the offending out of balance area. There you go. Much better. And now you're going to follow the exact same steps just to glue this to the center of our card."
