"Hi, I'm Matt Cail and on behalf of Expert Village. I'm here today to show you how to put together a mummy costume. We are nearly ready to start wrapping up our mummy. But first we have to talk about what exactly you use to wrap up your mummy. There are a couple of different lines of thinking with this. One of them is that you should also use sort of a medical wrapping. After all isn't this the closest thing we have to what the ancient Egyptians used? Actually no, it was a very different material than what they used back in the day to wrap up the mummies before they ritualistically buried them. But, there is another down side to the bandaging. But first off it takes a lot. That can add up money wise. Also it is a little more tightly wound. It is a little less flexible. So you may have trouble moving around throughout the evening especially if it is wound tight. Furthermore, if you end up ripping it you have a problem. Because very quickly it will start unwinding and it is very difficult to tie back off again. For these and other reasons I do not recommend using medical tape. I also do not recommend using toilet paper either. Toilet paper is way too fragile. Any water, anything remotely will start disintegrate right off your body and often times at parties there may be some liquid and other beverages like running around. You don't want to have a costume that is quite that fragile. What I suggest is a nice medium right in between there. Which these are basically streamers. You can get them at most any like any party supply stores and elsewhere. They have some resiliency to them. At the same time they also have some flexibility. And the way we are going to apply these put them on our mummy if they rip it is not going to be a big deal."
