Summary: Learn how to prep your paper for making paper snowflakes in this free Christmas crafts video.
"Hello, I'm Matt Cail and on behalf on Expert Village I'm gonna show you today how to make some paper snowflakes. In getting our paper ready, this is like the first I mean the most important thing you are going to do. If the paper gets goofed up then your snowflakes are going to have problems lots and lots of problems. So, the first thing to realize is if you are starting to use your like normal 8 1/2 by 11 paper, there is a problem. You want to actually have your piece of paper be square like. That means all four sides are the exact same length. So, what I recommend doing is you know with an 8 1/2 by 11 this side is 8 1/2 by 11 this side is 11 basically cut across and make all four sides about 8 1/2. You're already gonna have two sides are gonna be done because the paper is that way anyway and your basically just gonna shorten. I'm just gonna crunch down a little bit. Then this gonna be make a perfect square which is going to help because paper snowflakes are all about symmetry. They're all about you know having like the exact same you know measurements in sizes and also ultimately shapes cut out on all around the sides. With a rectangle you don't get that with a square piece of paper you do. "
