"Hello, my name is Matt Cail on behalf of expertvillage.com, I'm here today to talk about trick or treating safety. The next thing to discuss is the issue of time. When do you want to go out trick or treating? Some parents prefer to only go out during the day and certainly they'll find plenty of houses that will have candy in most areas during the day. In fact there may even be more people comfortable coming to their door during the day rather than later at night. That said, you should also keep in mind taking a cell phone with you. The cell phone will also have a clock on it and it's also a great communication device to make you feel more comfortable walking out at night. The other thing to keep in mind related to timing is that recently Congress has changed daylight savings time. What does it mean for you? Well it means that we're going to be falling back later. Previously daylight savings time happened in the middle of October which meant by the time Halloween rolled around you already had that one less hour of daylight and it meant that it got dark even earlier. Now with the change in law, daylight savings time has been pushed back into November. What that means is that you get an extra hour of daylight for trick or treating now than you did previously."
