"My name is William and today we are going to demonstrate the proper use of the citizens band microphone. The microphone is this device that has the push to talk switch on the left hand corner. To push the talk switch is what turns on the transmitter to send you transmitting voice out to the other unit. To transmit you push down the push to talk switch and you hold the microfilm six to eight inches away from your mouth and you speak directly and normally into the microphone. Your voice is then amplified through the microfilm element down into the audio amplifier of the citizens band transmitter out to the antenna to the receiver on the other end that you are transmitting to. The microphone is very sensitive and will pick up background noises. You must speak directly and clearly into the microphone. "
