"Okay, so you've got your first telescope. You're ready to go out and study the stars and on summer nights you're going to have a blast. You're going to start wanting some cleaner, crisper skies and you're going to get those when the weather turns cold. When you're outside alone at night be sure and dress for it and I mean over dress for it. Layers are wonderful. Don't be afraid to put on four, five, or six layers. Have a couple of coats on hand. Several pairs of gloves. It gets cold standing out there underneath the sky. Frost will form on your telescope. It'll also form on you. Your eyelashes may actually freeze to the eyepiece at some point but they are beautiful skies and it is worth being out there for. So dress warmly, be careful, enjoy."
