Series Summary

Valentine's day is the holiday that takes place every February 14th during which, traditionally, lovers express their love for each other. Often Valentine's Day cards, candy or flowers are sent, and red and pink hearts are used to decorate. Originally named for Christian martyrs named Valentine, the day became more about romantic love in the Middle ages when courtly love flourished. It has become a bit commercialized since the Middle ages though, and is now the second largest greeting card sending holiday of the year behind Christmas.

Everyone wants Valentine's Day to be special, so why not treat yourself and your loved one to some fondue on this romantic holiday. Besides being an aphrodisiac, a chocolate fondue is just plain delicious, and it's also easy to make! In this free video series, you'll learn what ingredients are needed for a Valentine's Day fondue, how to melt the chocolate, cut the fruit and cake, and ultimately how to enjoy the delicious recipe! It's important to enjoy yourself on Valentine's Day, so learn how to make this fondue today, and apply it to any special occasion.

Video Transcript

"Here's everything you'll need to make your romantic dark chocolate fondue dessert. First, you need a fondue pot and these fondue pots are surprisingly affordable and you can find them at most any store that sells small kitchen appliances. What I like about this set is that it comes with all the forks and you can see that the forks are color-coded on the end. So if you tell people no double-dipping then they each keep their color-coded fork and you don't spread germs around. Then we have the chocolate and this is special chocolate that's for fondue because it's called dipping chocolate. You don't want to use just any old chocolate from a bar because this has special ingredients to make it smooth and melt-able. We also have strawberries and you can take the tips of the strawberries, the little green part off, or leave it on. But, I like to leave it on because I think it's sweet and romantic-looking. We have pineapples and I've left them in triangles, but you can make them cubes, take the rind off, whatever you like. And, of course, we have our bananas, an old standby. And Granny Smith apples, but you can use any kind of apple. I like the contrast between the tart and the sweet chocolate. And we have angel food cake for your angel."
