"Now I'm going to talk about a different way you can diffuse the light. We're getting into a couple more things to add to your kit, a little more advanced, I guess. Not so advanced is just regular plain white poster board. More advanced is I've got to upgrade from my C47s to these alligator clips for this project, so get some of these. This is just a good thing to have as well. You can get by with the C47s, your clothespins, and just strap them on for your regular diffusion with parchment paper, but here's another way to do it. Basically we're going to create a diffusion by pointing the light up and reflecting the light off the poster board. I'll just clamp this poster board onto my light. Try to flatten this out a little bit. When I turn my light on, you can see the light is shooting up and reflecting out. It gives you a much softer look. I don't know how much you can see. How when I turn this around I've got a pretty soft light on my face. So that's just another way to create a diffusion and get this soft, evenly distributed light very cheaply, using these alligator clips and this poster board along with our clamp light."
