"Now that you've made a couple Valentine packages and presents for your family, it's time to make a card to go with it. This card right here has the technique of dry embossing. The hearts on the top third of this card are all dry embossed. I'm going to show you how to do that. It's a quick and easy card and it looks beautiful. First thing you're going to do is take your card stock, 8 1/2 x 11, and go ahead cut it in half at 5 1/2. Most cards are 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. That is a standard size card. For most of these demonstrations, we'll be using that size, but I also like to make cards that are 3x3, 6x6, and give you a little variation of which way the card opens. We've already gone ahead and cut our cardstock and we're getting ready to draw emboss. You will need a light source to do this and you will need an embossing template. I have that ready to go. What I'm going to do is go ahead and turn on my light box. The other thing that makes your embossing easier and quicker is a little wax paper on the inside of your card where you'll be embossing. You're just going to go ahead and rub your card with the wax paper. What that does is it helps to keep your stylist move smoothly. We're getting ready to emboss. I'm going to of course have hearts because we're doing a Valentine's theme and I'm going to just place my card over where I'm going to emboss."
