Summary: Improve your video production optical quality with a Canon XH A1 video camera by learning how to use the focus presets in this free production video.
"Now I'm going to show you how to use your focus preset. It's just exactly what our zoom preset was except with focus. This can give you completely accurate rack in and rack out focus without having to worry about doing it yourself and going too far. It's right here, right where our zoom preset was except it's all the way over for focus. You'll see a little mf-l, or mf-something comes up on your screen right here. What we want to do is, we want to get our focus. So I'm going to use my magnify and my peaking to help me get a focus and then, there we go. I'll just pull it in the best I can, and then I'll come back out and turn the magnify and peaking off. What I want to do is, I want to set this in focus as our focus preset. What I'll do is pull the little button back and set it just like we did with the zoom preset. Now, I'll actually throw it out of focus on purpose. I threw us out of focus as I can. If I hit the on, right here on our focus preset, you can see it automatically comes into focus. It comes back to that focus that I set. It works just like the zoom preset only on focus. Like I said, this is great for rack in and rack out focus and not having to worry about doing it yourself. You can set up your shot ahead of time, and set your focus, find where you want to go in or out of focus, set it and then do it automatically and you'll get those artistic shots, or whatever. That's how you use the focus preset on a Canon XH A1."
