Summary: Improve your video production with a Canon XH A1 video camera by learning how to use the zoom options in this free production video.
"Before we start going into some more advanced zoom features on the XH A1, I just want to remind you about all your zoom options, in general, just in case you don't already know. I would hope you would already know at this point, but. First off, is our manual zoom, which is actually a servo, but is just like a manual because of the ring. You can see you can slow down or speed up just based on how quickly or slowly you're turning that ring. And that's our manual zoom. Our servo zoom, or traditional servo zoom so to speak, is over here. You can see the 'T', go forward, zoom in, the 'W', zoom out, stands for telephoto and wide angle. Also, on this traditional servo over here, you have the option to set it from constant to variable. The variable being, the more you push it in the faster it goes, and the slower, the slower it goes. But, you can also set it to constant and then change the number here with this little dial right here from one to sixteen. One being the slowest, sixteen the fastest. Then you can get an extremely slow zoom or an extremely fast zoom. Your last zoom option is up here on the handle, and this is always set to your constant speed. This is not a variable zoom and it only works if it's unlocked right here. This is a quick overview of all your zoom options and coming up, we'll go into more detail about different things you can do with the zoom."
