"Well about maintaining your car, your car stereo in well condition certainly will last you longer. Really that's not much to do about it. Only thing you need to do, especially when you play, when you have a head unit that plays CDs. You got to make sure the CD that you're playing that it's not scratched, it's not dirty, or if it is you need to clean it. What's going to happen is if you have a CD that is all scratched, all dirty, what's going to happen is when you play it in the head unit, it might play it. But all the dirt the CD has, it's going to stay inside that head unit and actually that piece is going to damage your laser. So the only thing that you need to do, you got to make sure for your radio to last longer, is make sure you have your CD clean. No dents, scratches or anything and you'll see. Your radio will last you more than what you expect it to last. That's the only thing that you can do about it. The lifetime of them usually it's going to be within five, six years if no more if you really take care of it. I mean some customers don't really take care of them that great, so it might last them a year. Even six months. So if you that type of person that you're going to be taking care of it really good and you do what I just said, clean the CD and maintain it clean. Probably you're going to have it for five years. Now, that's if it is a name brand. If it isn't of name brand, you know it might last you a month, three months, six months. Who knows? Name brands, I guarantee it's going to last you more than five years if you take care of it."
