"Hi, this is Karen from Expert Village. Now, I am going to show you how to make a spider web cake. For this we will need six ounces of chocolate or chocolate chips, a quarter cup of margarine, and two tablespoons of corn syrup all in a double boiler pan or in a bowl that you can put over boiling water. We will need a little bit of our melted white chocolate chips, about a teaspoon of shortening, or oil to thin the white chocolate chips out and a round cake. You can use a bunt cake, this is an angel food cake, or any round cake will do. Okay, the first thing that we are going to do is take our chocolate, our corn syrup and our margarine and melt it over a double boiler. That is six ounces of chocolate, or chocolate chips, a quarter cup of margarine and two tablespoons of corn syrup. I am going to go melt that over a double boiler. Okay, I have melted my chocolate, my margarine and my corn syrup over the double boiler and I have mixed that until it's nice and smooth. This is going to be a glaze for our cake. Then you want to take your white chocolate and add the shortening to it and melt that again over the double boiler and mix it up together nice just to thin the white chocolate a little bit. "
