"Hi! I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village and tonight I'm sharing some Halloween safety tips for trick or treating. One of the important things that you're going to want to remember is that you want your child to be visible at all times. There are a lot of cars out on the street. There are a lot of older children running around. You don't want your child to blend into the background and be easily lost, hit by a car, or hurt. Remember to always make them as visible as possible, while still maintaining the integrity of their costumes. There are a few different ways that you can do this. You can use a light stick. Sometimes they come in bracelets or necklaces. Those are just neon pieces that you snap and they glow in the dark for a few hours. Those are great. They're very inexpensive and can be picked up pretty much at any discount store or drug store. You can use iron on tape on a costume. You just need an iron. You can pick this up at fabric or crafts store. It just comes on a roll. It does come on a variety of colors. There's yellow, purple, I saw some gray and brown. You just unroll it. You can pick a few spots. Maybe around the wrist, around the waist, somewhere on the child's body on the costume so that they can be visible whenever they're crossing the street or walking along. Another way to do it is with a flash light or a light up wand. Something that lights up, that reflects, that somehow eliminates your child and makes their presence known. Remember it's very important that your child is visible on Halloween night."
