"Hi! I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village and today I'm giving you some tips on how to pack your Christmas decorations away for safe keeping until next year. Here are another couple quick tips again, about keeping your original packaging that your ornaments come in. I know that initially when you open up a box and you break out your ornament, you may not consider saving the whole box because they do start to add up and take up space. For something like this that is delicate and a little bit pricier, you should really go ahead and keep the original box. It comes with a plastic and then you can put it right back in there. You'll know that your ornament is well protected for the following year. This is really kind of a keepsake ornament, something that I'm going to want to pass down to my children, so I want to make sure that I keep it well protected. Here is a quick tip with stockings. If you are like me, you have about 6 stockings up along your mantel every year and they also need to be stored, but they can actually do double duty for your more delicate Christmas ornaments. This Santa had is porcelain and I've had it for years. The best way for me to pack this guy up is to go ahead and stick him in a stocking and then put the stocking in one of my boxes. It keeps him very well protected. It keeps him nice and warm and it really is a very, very great way to make good use of your stockings. When you're ready to take it out next year, you just go ahead and pull it out and hang your stocking right up on the fireplace. Just a couple of quick tips for you."
