"Hi, I'm Karina Fraley, for Expert Village, and we are making Halloween themed placemats. So, we're just about done with our placemats. I just wanted to show you a few different options for embellishing. There are many different things that you can embellish with, and there are also many different methods to do it. This is rick rack, and it comes in pretty much every color out there, and I think I am going to use that for my candycorn placemat. And I really like this combination of orange and green. Now, there are two ways, (there are many ways, actually), to apply rick rack. One of the ways is to sew it, but I think that I'm actually going to use fabric glue. I am going to want my placemats to last for a while, but they're not going to get daily use, year in and year out. They really are just for a season. So I think that some fabric glue will do the trick nicely. So, you're just going to measure, and I'm just going to do one side, so I'm just going to have it wrap around the other side. So, I'm just going to measure how much I want, give a little extra, and I'm just going to give it a little cut, and then do it on that side. Okay, so you are going to want to protect whatever surface you're working on so that you don't get any glue on it, so I'm just going to use a paper. And this is a permanent bond glue, it has a nice, thin tip so that you can follow the pattern of the zig zag. Okay, so once we do that, then you pick it up, and I'm actually going to move the other placemat out from underneath it because I don't want to get glue on it...right there...and then you just decide where you want it and you press down and this dries clear , and again, it is a permanent bond even through the wash cycle. And then I'm actually just going to turn mine over, so there will be a top and a bottom, a front and a back, to my placemat...that's fine. Just take your orange rick rack, put it along there, just pat it down all the way along, turn it under, on both sides, pat this down, and there you go. Now, we'll just add a little touch and later on I'm going to do the other end, but for now, you get the idea how to do it, and you can have fun playing around with it. "
