"Hi! I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village and today I'm showing you how to make a photo frame Christmas tree ornament out of felt. We've gone ahead and we've made our little frame. We've cut our felt, we've made our little opening, chosen our picture, and put it there. Next, we're going to go ahead and stitch using a zigzag stitch. I prefer my stitch to be a little smaller. You can go ahead and set your machine for whatever width and length you want. I'm going with 2x3 1/2. I'm going to use green thread because it's contrasting. If you want to go ahead and match your felt, you can use whatever color thread you're using for your felt. Again, I am going to use green. You hold your 2 pieces together. If you want, you can pin them together. I'm just going to hold mine. Again, remember that you went ahead and trimmed around the edge of your picture so that it's not hitting the sides too closely. That way the machine will most likely not the hit the edge. You're going to want to go ahead and use a nice strong needle. I'm using a denim needle. You can use something that will go through wool or denim. You really don't want the needle to break on you. You don't want it to get caught. You just hold it together. I've already set my machine to my zigzag stitch. You feed it under there. We're going to go all the way around with our zigzag stitch. I'm going to do a 2x3 1/2 zigzag stitch. I'm using green because I wanted my fabric to contrast. We're just going to go all the way around. It's going to give it a nice finished look. Remember, don't push your fabric through whenever you're sewing. Just go ahead and guide it. When you get to the end, just go ahead and stop. Put your needle down, and then you pick up your foot. Turn it around and keep going. We are done. I'm just going to pull that out and cut my thread. There it is. A very cute little photo frame that's going to hang from your tree or from your gift bag. I'm going to go ahead and show you how to poke a hole through there and put some ribbon through so that you can hang it from the tree. Join me at the next clip."
