"Hi! I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village and today I'm showing you how to make a felt photo frame ornament for your Christmas tree. Now we need to cut the opening like this. It looks like this, so we can then see our picture. The easiest way to do this is to take this, fold it in half, and start from the middle. From the folded edge right in the middle, cut out one snip there, one snip there. Don't go all the way to the edge. Remember, you're going to want to keep about 1/4 inch at least away from the edge because that's going to be the frame. Then you're going to turn it this way and cut that way. That's a good starting point. Then you can see that this is a little smaller than we're going to want. Now you can cut your picture down and start. It might take a couple tries to make sure you have the right size, but always air on the side of the picture being too big rather than to small, because otherwise you're going to have to print it again. That picture fits nicely there. Now I can see that I'm going to need just a little bit more. Try to stay pretty even from the top and the bottom. Once you have a big enough opening that you can maneuver your scissors around without having to fold it in half, you can go ahead and do that. Then you can see how your little opening is looking. Mine is looking pretty good. Then this also helps you determine whether or not you're doing it evenly. I think just a little bit more one more time and mine is going t be ready. This is a really fun project to do with the kids. It will help them learn how to measure and how to put a little project together that they can really be proud of. It's fun. Now I have that down. As you can see, there's my little picture in a little frame. Now what I'm going to do is sew around with some green thread. I'm going to do a zigzag stitch all the way around. Go ahead and make sure that your picture, as I said before, doesn't hang all the way to the edge because you don't want to have to put the needle through. I'm going to just trim this up. I'm going to get my sewing machine and I'll see you at the next clip."
