"Hi! I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village and today I'm showing you how to make a felt photo frame ornament for your Christmas tree. We've gone ahead and gotten our fabric ready with the backing and we've cut out this front, the facing. This we're eventually we're going to cut an opening there so we can see the picture. Before we do that, we're going to want to determine just how big that opening is going to be. You're going to want to either find a picture that you already have that you're going to feel okay about cutting down to size, or if you are on your computer and have a photo program, you can actually size a picture down and print it out either on photo paper of even just regular paper. There's matte, there's glossy. There are a variety of options. The only thing that I recommend is if you use photo paper, you're really going to want to keep it really, really right on the edge of the opening. We're going to go around and sew to finish it off. You don't want the needle ripping the photograph. I've gone ahead and I've printed mine on a piece of paper here. I sized it down on my photo program on my computer. I know that I did my little square 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches and I know that I'm going to want just a little bit of room around like that. That's about 3/4 of inch. I'm going to go ahead and just measure 3/4 of an inch, I’m going to cut an opening, and I’ll show you how to do that in the next clip."
