"In this clip, I will show you how to add effects to your video clip before putting it on to DVD. I am going to use Windows Movie Maker, but you can use any software, that you see fit or that you already have. Windows Movie Maker is a registered trademark of Microsoft, a company which I have no affiliation with, whatsoever. Alright, so, we are in Windows Movie Maker and I've already imported a clip here. I have cut it up. I am going to add video effects. In order to find these effects, there are two options. Either, you can go into 'Tab' and go to 'Video effects' or you can go up to the 'Tools' and click 'Video effects' there. Then, you'll have all of these video effects that you can just 'Select' and drop on to your individual clips. So, I'll pick a couple of them here and do 'Film age old'. Just pick that and apply it to the first one. You can see this little star here, on the clip in the timeline that tells you that there is an effect on it. So, I just wait for it to load here. Then we'll play it back and see what it looks like. So, it kind of just makes the old footage look just a bit older. Let?s try another one. Move it right here. Then we will choose, lets see what we have, a watercolor that should be interesting. We'll drop the watercolor filter in here and then we will play it. So, there's a pretty dramatic effect, right there. You have a bunch of options here. Since this is free software, that comes with Windows, it is pretty limited and you can't actually control the perimeters on each effect. However, different video editing pieces of software will have different controls on how you can actually adjust things. So, you?ll have to learn with whatever piece of software, you've chosen to use. That's how you use video effects in Movie Maker, though."
