"In this clip, I will show you how to edit and trim your video clips, in order to, put them onto DVD. I am will be using Windows Movie Maker. Windows Movie Maker is a registered trademark of Microsoft Company, of which I have no affiliation with, whatsoever. OK, so, we are in Windows Movie Maker and I've captured the footage, already. It's captioned, ?Pat, 12-days old' and it's in my collections bin. If you click here in 'Collections', you can see all of those other ones that I have captured, but this is the one that I have chosen to edit. I will go ahead and grab that and drop it into my 'Timeline' here. Now you have your editing head here, which lets you scroll along the timeline, see the movie here and see the preview. If I wanted to, I could play it and see it moving along the timeline. Say that I wanted to make a cut here; I could do it by going to ?Clip? up here in the options or the top left box, that you see here. Then you would go to 'Split', but you'll also see that it says CTRL L. Well, I just clipped it right there and what it did was split the video file. Now, I can just click CTRL L and it will do the same thing; that's a shortcut. Next, I want to take this middle bit out, so I delete it by just selecting it and choosing delete. You'd then play it back and you would see that it was cut there. You can also trim it by placing your cursor head at the end of the clip where you'll will see it change to that and from regular to that. Then you'll drag it, and it will just trim automatically. When you playback here, you?ll see that it trimmed it even more. So, that's the basics. If you go to the storyboard, you can actually see the individual parts that I cut. Go back to the timeline and you can preview it all here. So, that's how you do basic editing in Windows Movie Maker."
