"Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make fun delicious gingerbread men. Now that our molasses have been completely incorporated into the shortening and sugar mixture, it's time to start adding the flour. Now remember we used five cups of flour, that's a lot of flour. That's a lot of dry ingredients to be incorporating into, only really two cups of liquid because you know a cup of sugar doesn't add to the liquidity of it. So we're going to do this in steps. Make sure you're not causing yourself to sneeze as you're pouring some of this in gently. You want to put in about a third of it in to start with and then you're going to slowly start mixing it. You don't want to mix it too fast because you don't want the flour to be poofing up and spilling everywhere. You just want to get that a little bit incorporated. So I guess it's at the second slowest and it's going to start lumping up a bit. You can see it still fairly loose. That first amount is mixed in, so you'll want to do second, third and just pour that in there and it's the same drill. Where you're going to start out very slowly and then as that amount gets a little bit incorporated you're going to speed it up a little bit, not too fast, you can probably see a little bit of a white cloud coming up. And now this amount is getting incorporated and you can see it's a lot thicker there. So at this point you want to scrape the bowl down and certainly scrape the beaters off because the last part is a whole step in itself."
