"Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make these peppermenty candy cane cookies. Now you can see we have a full cookie sheet of candy cane cookies ready to go into the oven. We've already set the oven for three hundred and seventy-five degrees and we're going to put these in for eight to ten minutes. Now if you're going to be baking multiple cookie sheets, you want to make sure that your oven shelves are adjusted so that none of the cookies are too close to the top or the bottom heating elements. You just want to make sure to try and get them as close to the center as possible. We're going to put that in and we're going to set the timer for about eight minutes so that we can check it first. And then wait and see, you want to have it slightly brown on the bottom, but you don't want it to be too dark, you don't want to make those cookies too crisped, they're a softer cookie. Also because there wasn't any levenling in it, we didn't put any baking soda or any baking powder, we don't have to worry about the cookie rising too much because it's not going to rise. It's going to be a softer denser cookie when it comes out."
