"Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make these peppermenty candy cane cookies. Our next step after the butter is nicely beaten and fluffy is to add in our powdered sugar. We're going to add one cup of powered sugar to our one cup of butter and if you can have this in a container and not in a plastic bag, then that is great you just want to lightly scoop it in if it's still in its plastic you just want to be careful when pouring it. You want to get as close to one cup, a nice leveled top as possible. If you have a lot of larger lumps, this has some smaller lumps and it's not as much as a problem. But if you have a lot of larger ones, then you want to be careful and probably sift it as well. You're just going to pour that right in and you'll notice there's a little bit of a cloud coming up, you want to be careful when you start incorporating the butter and the sugar. You want to start out slowly because you don't want to cause any more of it to go up into the air. Because let me tell you, breathing in the powdered sugar is not all that really fun, even if it does leave a sweet taste in your mouth. So we're going to mix that until it's fully incorporated and then it's ready to add the next ingredients."
