"Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you the proper way to baste a turkey and how to make delicious gravy for your traditional Thanksgiving Day meal. Let's see how our turkey is doing. It's about time you put your second basting. It has been in for about 1/2 and hour so you just want to baste approximately every half an hour with the turkey and we're going to take it out place it on the counter and make sure to close the stove again. Now you can see that there aren't that many pan juices in the turkey yet so we're going to add some of our own. Now I'm going to use the baster without the cyclone brush to baste the turkey with some chicken broth. You want to use broth either chicken or turkey works fine but chicken tends to be easier to find in stores if you are going to buy it. You are going to put lots and lots of broth so that your keeping the skin moist. Now before this we were basting with butter to help the skin brown. But we don't want to brown too quickly or too much otherwise you're going to end up with a tough turkey and that is one thing we don't want. "
