"Hello! I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, today I am going to show you how to make Cranberry Sauce. Now I would like to take a moment to talk about pot size. You notice that the amount of ingredients that we are using is not very large; 12 ounces of cranberries, 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. One would think it would easily fit into a small 1 to 1 1/2 quart size pot. However, cranberries once they start boiling get very frothy and can easily over flow a pan of this size. Actually they can over flow any size pan. But in order to try and keep everything contained, we are going to use a much larger pot than you would think would be necessary. This is a 3 1/2 quart pot which is about the right size but you could even go up to a 4 quart. I would not go below a 3 quart pot otherwise you are going to have Cranberry Sauce all over your stove. Now what if you don't have a larger size pot and say a 1 1/2 to 2 quart pot is the only size you have, this will work all right. Just keep an eye on your Cranberry Sauce at all times. "
