"Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you how to make this delicious pecan pie. Now that our sugar, butter and eggs have been mixed together it's time for the corn syrup. Corn syrup is one the key ingredients for pecan pie other than the pecans. The syrup gives the right texture to the filling for the pie. Now before I measure out the corn syrup I have a trick. If you take the measuring cup and fill it with warm water before putting the corn syrup in don't dry it out, then it helps the corn syrup come out of the cup much more easier. Although this recipe calls for 1/2 cup of corn syrup and as I mentioned earlier the corn syrup that I have includes vanilla, so you don't need to add vanilla extract to the recipe. That is going to pour right in there and mix it up and at this point the filling is getting a lot thicker. You can see once it bakes up that will be a nice firm filling."
