Series Summary

Think of pecan pie as a family reunion for these gourmet nuts. They cling to their mother until the beginning of fall forces them to leave home, that long and painful drop to independence, then they all come back together for Thanksgiving dinner. Sound like some college students you know? Indeed, nuts are a lot like people, though for the most part, much more cooperative and easy to digest. By the time you combine melted butter, eggs and sugar with delicious pecans, you'll have a dessert much more appealing than Uncle Jeb's annual rant about the price of gas.

In this free dessert recipe, our professional pastry chef demonstrates in easy steps how to make a delicious pecan pie, from choosing the perfect ingredients to rolling the crust, to chopping the nuts to serving this after-dinner treat. A great way to top off that turkey dinner!

"Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you how to make this delicious pecan pie. First we are going to talk about the ingredients that we need today. The most important ingredients for any pie is going to be the pie crust, this has already been made and already rolled out ready to go into our pie pan. Of course for our pecan pie pecans are incredibly important, this is the main flavoring agent of the pie. It will give it lots of crunch. The other ingredients that will make up the body of the pie are eggs, corn syrup for sweeten, butter and sugar. The corn syrup that I've gotten has vanilla in it so we don't need to add vanilla extract as well. Once we add all of these ingredients together we'll have a delicious pecan pie for your Thanksgiving table."
