How to Sew Squares for a Quilted Christmas Stocking

"So I’m finally ready to start sewing my little quilted stocking together. What I have done is that I have a couple of different threads here and what I’ve chosen for my stocking is I’ve chosen to go with purple. Depending upon what you want to do, you can either go with a color that is not in your stocking at all to sort of emphasize the little marks and your stitches or you can go with something a little more subtle and I’ve chosen to go with something more subtle. It’s really easy to do. It’s a basic stitch and what we are going to do is I like to start off in the corner of here and if any of the pieces start coming off you can always put your book back on it. Usually I keep it on and as you go along you are going to be pulling it up but for this purpose so you guys can see, put it over here. I like to start up in the corner. You want to work your way down the little seams here and go all the way through and you want to make sure that you connect all of the corners and all the little pieces to one another to make your little quilt stocking more complete so that none of the pieces fall off. You notice that the thread shows up a little bit better on a pink as it is supposed to do. Just kind of gives it a little bit of emphasis and it’s looking really nice. Now for the interest of time sake what I am going to do since I’m not quite done with the stitching on our little baby stocking here, I am going to switch over to another stocking where the entire front has been completed and show you how to do the back of a stocking.
