How to Prepare Fabric for a Christmas Stocking

"Okay so we’ve got our pattern ready and now all we need to do is get the fabric ready. What we need to do is take our iron and just go over these little squares because as you can see they are all folded up. They’ve got these little crease lines in them. What we need to do is take it and I set my iron to a cotton setting and I’ve got my little thing up for steam and we are just going to go through and get out some of the creases here. They don’t have to be exactly perfect or exactly straight because we are going to be cutting these up in just a couple of minutes. We do want to get out some of these creases so it looks better. Now also the time while you are straightening these out, what you need to do is before we cut all these in little pieces, you need to figure out what is going to be the back of your stocking and what is going to be the front of your stocking. By the front I mean that you are going to take a portion of your fabric and you are going to cut it in the shape of the stocking and then sew all of the other little squares onto it just to give the squares more of a better backing to stay together. One more thing I do want to mention why you are ironing out your pieces, you will notice that I have cleared off my little work area here and I have made sure to put the spray adhesive over on the other side of the room because it doesn’t react well to heat and you definitely want to keep it away from the iron.
