"Hi, my name is John Mays. Some people refer to me as “Evil” John Mays. I’m a makeup effects artist and I’m here to demonstrate some makeup techniques for Expertvillage.com. What I’m doing now is adding a little bit of purple to give a kind of infected, inflamed look. You kind of have to tile the makeup together because you can’t just have the appliance sitting there by itself. And especially as white as her skin is it would just look kind of pall. One of the cool things about bruising is that it comes in all shapes and sizes, so just kind of go to town. One thing you have to do with your makeup is just kind of tile it in. You can’t have perfect lines of delineation because if you do then it looks completely false. You kind of have to blend one thing into the next and into the next and into the next, so you have it heavy in some spots. Try to figure out where the bones are, especially on bruises, and show impact there. "
