"Okay, so the basic formula for the sugar skull is for every cup of sugar you want to use one sort of heaping teaspoon of meringue powder and about one heaping teaspoon to a tablespoon of water. You'll get a sense for what the consistency of the mixture needs to be like. Remember, the purpose of the meringue powder is to bind the sugar together. Because otherwise, if you just mix sugar and water and mold it into the mold and then flip it out, it's just going to crumble once it dries. So the meringue powder is a pretty key ingredient; you can't leave it out. So I'm just going to measure some sugar here. I might as well use most of it. I'm just going to pour it in here. And let's see, right now... let's go ahead and I'm going to do all four cups. I won't do all of it; I'll just do about four cups of sugar here. Okay, there we go. So that's four cups of sugar. I'm going to pour them into my bowl here. And then before I add the liquid ingredients I'm going to go ahead and add... remember it's one heaping teaspoon per cup.... so I'm going to need four heaping teaspoons of the meringue powder. And you can see it's has kind of a yellowish color. It is powdered egg white with powdered sugar; those are the main ingredients. So I'm just going to go, one, two, three, and four. And that's good. And that's my dry ingredient, so I'm going to mix those up now and now add the water."
