Wherever this realm of the dead lies, there is no doubt that is separate from the present reality of the living. However, can these two existences ever meet? On November 1st and 2nd, the two separate realities mingle together. Observers of the holiday believe that departed souls come to communicate with the living. However, rather than focusing on the dreary prospect of death, the festival is jovial with laughter and love. Grand stories are told of the departed. Alters are built with the favorite foods and beverages of the deceased. Pictures and memorabilia are left to remind the departed of their former life. "So the first thing you are going to need is to find a mold. In traditionally a mold for a sugar skull would have been made out of wood or clay or ceramic or something like that. They still make them like that in Mexico and parts of Latin America. You can around Halloween, around Day of the Dead time of the year you can find molds for sugar skulls. You could also find it in Mexican arts and crafts like import stores. You can go to a occasionally stores that deal with bakery, confectionery, or candy making. So I have a couple of molds here they are plastic molds. They are sort of the same as molds that would be used for you know making candy or making soap or that sort of thing. They are just plastic you can see they are kind of small. They make different sizes, different designs of skull molds this is about a medium size one. There might be some that are smaller. They also make there is a 2 piece mold that you can get that make both the front and the back of the skull so you are sort of making 2 halves of like a larger skull. Then you kind of have to assemble it together later. But anyway any kind of mold that you use that is what you are going to need first and I like having 2 of them because they get sticky kind of quick. Then you have to keep washing them and kind of move a lot faster if I'm using 2 molds. So get your mold and then we would talk about the ingredients you need to make those skulls. "
