"In 1984, Hallmark came out with lighted and musical ornaments. This is an example of the very first lighted ornament they came out with. It was very simple. You would take this, and plug it into one of your light sockets; stick the other end into the ornament, and it would light up. Musical ones started out as ball ornaments, that you used to wind up. Then they went on to little characters; like this little angel. It has a miniature music box built in. In the past few years they have become more sophisticated with the musical, and the lighted ornaments. Like this Mickey; that not only plays music, but he moves. We also have Charlie Brown, who is a music box that you can put on your tree. "
