"I'd like to take a minute to discuss recording your ornaments. I like to have two different books. One is a book that has all the ornaments that I'm looking for; the "I Want" book. I write down the years, I write down what it's worth, and that's what I use as a guide when I buy them. I also like to record all the ornaments that I do have, and the value of each ornament. It's a very good idea that once you record what you have; as far as ornaments; you take it away from your house. That way, if something happens, and your house burns down, you have a record of exactly what you have, and how much it's worth. To find out what each ornament is worth, you can go to Border's Books, and get this price guide, or one like it. It will tell you exactly what the ornaments are worth. They'll show you a picture of what ornaments you have, and it will tell you what the value is today. "
