Summary: Learn how to dye Easter eggs using all-natural products in this free video about making the dye for the Easter eggs.
"Hi, I'm Gary for Expert Village. So now we have our onion skins, we put them into the pot and we covered them with water. Again, make sure you have enough water to cover all the eggs and the water obviously is going to begin to boil and you might have a little bit of evaporation. So make sure that you have enough water in there. And we're going to just let it boil, bring it to a boil for about 5 minutes. After that once we let it sit we'll see that the color from the onion skins actually creates a really nice dye and this is what it's going to look like. This is after it sits for at least 12 hours. You usually just do this and leave it overnight and this is going to be our mixture that we're going to take the eggs, we're going to wrap them with the different leaves and flowers. We let them soak into this dye, this solution and we're going to see that the egg which has a very thin shell is going to absorb this color, it's going to create a really nice decoration on the eggs. This probably one of the easier ways to make dye at least for the purpose of dying eggs which don't really need such a heavy color. It's probably the easiest way and the least mess, it's also kind of a good way you can use the onion skins afterwards to put into your garden and this could also be used as a natural compost. So all in all it's a really nice way to make dye."
