"Before we start, I like to go over some do's and don'ts of pole work. One advice that I would like to give people is don't wear any jewelry. This means no rings, no necklaces, no big loop earrings. Just in case your finger in one you would rip one out and it is very painful. Number 2 is no heavy lotions. Try not to put on lotion right before you jump on the pole. If you know that you are going to be working on the pole and you have heavy lotion on, my advice is to wash it off in the bathroom and then work on the pole. If you have heavy lotions or rings on the pole, what could happen is one, the ring can scratch up the pole and two, you can get blisters from those rings. Also if you have heavy lotions on, you can slide down the pole and you would not get any grip to do some of the more complicated moves. "
