"In Wing Chun, there are two weapons, there's the Luk Dim Bun Gon which is the eight foot pole, six and half point pole and then there's Baat Jaam Do, which is the butterfly swords. The butterfly swords were added to the Wing Chun style later by Wing Chun's husband, Leung Bok-Chau. If you look at the swords at first glance, it looks like one sword. But then, when you break it apart, it's actually two swords that are meld together. Some of the movements you use on the sword are like an extension of your hand in Wing Chun. So you have a Bong Sau movement, just like Bong Sau where the back arm is up. You have the Tong Sou movement and strike, just like the Tan Sao punch in Wing Chun. You have a double block just like Lap Sao, double Lap Sao in Wing Chun. You have Kwan Sau motion, which is the same whether you flip or not, side to side, the same as doing Kwan Sau Wing Chun. The Pak Sau is like a parry cross or Guo Sau and it the same with a sword. So it's almost like your hands, the swords are an extension of your hands in Wing Chun. It's called the Baat Cham Do, eight slashing knife."
